PAINTS AND COLOURS.  I use beautiful Michael Harding oil paints on all my oil paintings because the colour pigments are unsurpassed.  I really enjoy mixing these so that my work has interesting and unusual colours and colour combinations.  My work is particularly inspired by the wonderful artists Pierre Bonnard, Henri Matisse, Jules Cavailles and Ivon Hitchens.  I am so grateful to them for the joy their work has brought to me.

GARDEN INSPIRATION.  The paintings are inspired by our own garden here at Bradness.  Do take a look at ‘The Artists and their Garden’ which has photographs of the garden and some of the work by my partner, Michael cruickshank and myself that it has inspired. www.bradnessgallery.com/bradness-gallery-garden.  I love creating paintings to bring joy and tranquility to a home.  My focus is on capturing the essence of flowers as I see them in my garden and using fabrics that I have collected over the years.

COLOUR MIXING COURSES.  It took me several decades to learn all about colour and to enjoy mixing and using the sludgy colours, contemporary pastels and muted shades that bring life to a painting.  I teach all about Colour in Art and Colour Mixing here at Bradness Gallery on our 2 day Colour Course www.bradnessgallery.com and have also created an international online Colour Course www.colourmixingtutorials.com
